Personal pronouns

1. We use personal pronouns to replace nouns that we have already talked about.

2. We use subject pronouns to replace the subject of a sentence.

  • singular subject pronouns: I, you, he, she, it

  • plural subject pronouns: we, you, they

2. We usually use I, you, he, she, we and they to refer to people. We usually use it and they to refer to animals or things.

3. We use object pronouns to replace the object of a sentence.

  • singular subject pronouns: I→me, you→you, he→him, she→her, it→it

  • plural subject pronouns:      we→us, you→you,  they →them

4. We usually use an object pronount after a preposition or a verb.
